"Snow" workout yet

Well.. didnt sleep at all last night cause the sleet kept hitting my window.. wokeup this morning to a little bit of snow on the ground. Roads were icy so they cancelled most schools for the day.. my kids wish we could cancel their school.. .. but no doing.. we have too much work to do :) I have more pictures and will put those on my family blog.. needless to say the kids had fun getting out in it.. getting really cold.. and then coming in for hot chocolate. I stepped into the garage this morning and its WAY to cold in there to run.. (mostly because I am a wimp).. so I will do some jump roping in the warm living room.. probably while watching a bit of tv :) Todays HI .. 32. (its a heatwave down here compaired to your area Josha.. but I am not a tough mountain woman like you! I am sure you have already gotten you snow shoes on and taking a brisk hike up the mountain huh? .. Could it be the weather?

Well. I dont know why I REALLY dont feel like working out but I have a idea it might have something to do with the weather. Cloudy overcast day with freezing rain called for tonight. ITs just one of those days where I want to just sit and read to the kids, or work on my art alllll day. BUT.. I have done it before and I guess I will do it again.. gona force the workout. Gona make myself just get in there and get it done.. afterall.. its only 45 mins.. right? and I will feel so much better afterwards.. right? for some reason I think working out through the winter months is so much harder.. It is during this time that I usually quit. Its during this time of year that I loose focus and give up.. ...... I want this winter to be different. NO excuses. I want to atleast keep what I have worked so hard for.. I dont want that old body back... so.. Here I go.. will post more on this after I am done. ----- YEP.. I do feel better.. I know I know.. not as good as I once was.

Well.. I did cardio this morning and I just had to take it easy. I am not having issues with shin splints. They have been bothering me ever since my hard run around campus on Thanksgiving.. so today I walked most of my "run".. with 0 hiits ;( I did 1.22 miles and tried to run three times but it was hurting too bad so I decided to take it easy and stretch a lot. After I got off the treadmill I did jump rope for a few minutes just to try and get my heart rate up.. that did the job! I did ab work also.. 15 incline situps followed right away by 15 incline twists.. I did 4 sets of those I then did hip-ups.. 4 sets of 24. I am a bit disappointed in not being able to run but I know if I treat it correctly that I will working my way back to that level 10 in no time. Trying to remember that the HABIT of exercise is the important thing here ;) I am off to get my first meal of the day.. and anxiously awaiting more posts from my bfl friends :) blessings ruthie

Progress

Well.. Lately I feel like I havent been make much progress.. I still cant get over how much of this challenge is a mental one! I do understand that will not feeling 100% my self talk will be a bit off as well. So.. I am just trying to plug along through this challenge and hope for the best. I feel I have pretty much hit a brick wall as far as my fat loss.. but I will just keep plugging along.. realizing this is more about being healthy than being a "whatever" size. I could have just hit my natural body weight.. which is fine by me.. I would love, however to start seeing a bit more definition in my muscles.. BUT .. its all about progress not perfection right? I did ok on my eats today.. stayed on program for the most part but went a bit over on carbs.. I am happy however that I did not have any form of caffine until almost 1pm today! .. Now thats a record!. So.. for this week I have a few goals. 1. realize this is my last week of my 2nd challenge and be proud I have come this...

Seven Days to go

Only seven days to go. Time sure has gone by quickly. I just finished my workout for today. I actually did pretty well considering I am not feeling to good. Heres the Lowdown: Chest: on smith machine 12.10.8.6. with burnout's of mens pushups 3 sets of 10 Shoulders: Press 12.10.8.6 with burnout's as straight arm flies 24 Tris: Press 12.10.8.6 with burnout's on smith machine tri pull downs. I LOVE this day cause it is so much shorter! Here is my plan for eating today: Meal #1 water and marathon bar (only half) -I had this before my workout- Meal #2 Shake Meal #3 Turkey burrito or egg burrito tea Meal #4 peanut butter crackers water tea.. an apple Meal #5 spaghetti with turkey steamed veggies, one piece of garlic toast (no butter) Meal #6 Shake (banana puddin) Thats it for today.. will post my actually eats this evening.. keep on trucking! Less than 100%, Starbucks, Christmas

ok.. so here I am.. feeling a bit tired, and a bit under the weather. I have had a sore throat all day and feel just a bit "off". I have put off my workout until I felt better.. and right now I do.. so I am fixing to go in and do my cardo for the day. I am sure it wont be as great as my last workout but I am going to atleast do what I CAN do. I am hoping that I am not getting sick. I will be so upset to be sick on the last week of my challenge! .. we will see I guess. more after I get cardo done ********* Just got cardio done. I didnt do that well.. BUT atleast I DID it! .. I only ran five times and spent the rest of the time walking. 1.36 miles in 21.11 mins. UHG> Ab work was ok.. just 100 incline reg situps, no twists, no hipups. BUT atleast I DID it. On days like today .. when I am no where near 100% I think back to my softball days. I think.. If this were 22 years ago and I was feeling this way and I had softball practice.. would I go? quick post

quick post before bed.. its midnight and we just got home about 45 min ago from putting up the campus .. putting up the christmas tree. took about 6 hours. I am tired. didnt workout.. plan on running tomorrow.. here are my eats today meal 1 one biscuit and gravy with four sips of coke from mcdonalds (i really didnt enjoy it at all) meal 2 eggs, scrambled with ketchup water and tea meal 3 bar b q sandwich and 1/2 of one small new potato, plain, tea meal 4.. shake, water, and two bites of the cin. roll i bought yesterday but didnt eat.. (I couldnt eat it cause it was just way too sweet for me.. ).. gave the rest of it to the kids. not too good on eats.. but will start fresh tomorrow.. ready for a bit of sleep.. =0 more later. progresssssssssssssssszzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZ(goodnight!)

Fridays post on Saturday (12:15am)

I know I know.. Its late and I should be in bed.. but I HAD to post before I hit the hay. first off I am so sore from my hiits yesterday. If its one thing I learned yesterday is I have stopped pushing myself as hard as I use too. I had a wonderful wonderful girls day with Angell today. It was really nice to have some time to just be without children, or dishes, or laundry, or whatever... to just have a day to relax. NICE! .. I can go into more of it later.. but I wanted to just post that I DID workout today and I wanted to post m y meals. heres the workout. leg extensions 12.10.8.6. squats on smith machine: 12.10.8.6 with Jumping to "JUMP" by Van Halen with Chloe and Cat back: rows on smith .. 12.10.10.10 (the last two tens were with Chloe helping and Nathan helping) =-no burnout on backs=- bis: standing curls with the bar 12.10.8 =-no burnouts on bis=- two hours later I challenged Josh (my 14 year old nephew) to a pushup challenge.. Well its turkey day and I cant believe I actually got up and went for a run this morning! .. I had a great run but I felt like I would throw up before I was half way around.. WHY? you ask.. because DHs cousin went with me and ran HIITs with me.. .. he pushed me really hard.. and of course he kicked my bottom in a major way on the sprints.. but it was GREAT! .. I did 8 HIITs in all.. and the last 5 I really did feel like I would loose my lunch. (although I had not had lunch).. anyway.. he use to be a personal trainer and I asked him why I got nauseated .. he said it was the lactic acid breaking down in my body.. and that it was a good thing.. .. so.. heres a new goal... make myself nauseated every time I run =) (not) I then came home and did abs: 80 incline situps with twists 10 reg incline situps (welll.. nate came in with a rash.. out of benedryle.. going to the store.. back to finish later.. ) ok.. i am back.. OK.. took what seemed like forever this morning but heres what I did chest: flies and burnout on smith press shoulders: flies with burnout on press tris: tri pull downs on smith with laying tri press on bench. had a banana puddin shake about 20 min after finishing.. planning to stay on program all day today I do have so "good" news. I havent had a soda since sunday (part of free day=weekend).. and my skin is really clearing up. I usually have small bumps on my triceps and they are starting to go away. I plan to just stay off sodas even on freedays for that reason.. Here was my meal plan for today: Meal #1 shake (oreo) Meal #2 leftovers chicken tortila with lite sourcream Meal #3 marathon bar or peanut butter on toast Meal #4 baked chicken with steamed veggies and sweet tato Meal #5 banana puddin shake Meal #6 marathon bar or shake (this will probably be in the middle of the night) Actual Meals: Meal #1 shake (oreo) Meal #2 tuna and egg salad with 5 crackers Meal #3 went to chillies with the girls.. had a fajita pita with french fries.. yes I ate french fries.. BUT I drank tea! no cokes! Meal #4 banana puddin shake (will have before bed) Meal #5 marathon bar or shake (this will probably be in the middle of the night) Meal #6 a miss well today wasnt so good. But not as bad as it could have been. I got busy and forgot to eat a meal.. .. I had fries at chillies but am happy that I did not get a coke. I keep trying to tell myself this is a lifestyle change.... not a diet.. so I need to figure out ways to really live my life and be happy with my fuel ...

something has really changed

Well.. I only got five meals in yesterday BUT I did wake up at 145am hungry so I ate a marathon bar and drank some water. This morning DH is off work and so I cooked bacon, eggs and toast for him and the boys and oatmeal for cat. I can not tell you how much I LOVE bacon. I think something has really changed in my way of thinking because I wasnt even tempted to take a bite! I did some things that made my morning a bit easier.. #1 is I got up and got dressed to run.. with ipod shoes and all.. #2 I drank some water as soon as I was dressed and before I started to cook. #3 I listened to my running music for a bit while I was cooking (this put my mind off of what I was doing at the moment and on what I was going to do.) I started working in the kitchen at 9 and didnt get on the treadmill until 10.. but I got it done.. here are the details: running on the mill with 7 total HIITS. all the Hiits were at speed ten and all but the last were at 20 seconds.. the last one I went 40 seconds.. WOW I cant believe only two weeks left! Time has flown by ... I AM looking forward to Challenge #3 =) I am feeling good this morning.. feeling refreshed and ready to stay focused on eating.. I think posting last night.. AND the fact that I was up at 2 AM this morning with a tummy ache.. has had a huge effect on me. =0 I got up this morning and made breakfast for the family and then did some schooling. I started my lifting at 10.. just in time for Price is Right :) .. I finished in 1 hour. Heres what i did It was cool in there this morning so I warmed up on the recumbent bike for about 10 mins. Leg extension 12.10.8.6 with burn outs of squats 24 Leg curls 12.10.8.6 with burnout's of dead lifts 24 Lunges 24 (just to feel an extra burn!) Feeling like I am loosing it

Ok.. heres an honest post.. I feel like I am loosing it.. I mean it.. I feel like I am loosing my leanness a bit and putting back on some inches. It is mostly in my tummy.. and I know why.. its because I have not been eating correctly. I have made a few too many exceptions in the last two weeks as some part of me feels like I shouldn't try to make progress because thanksgiving is coming. I realize that my problem with proper eating is mental.. and it is a mental challenge. My eats have affected my health the last two days as well. Yesterday I had a bad headache and also today. I thought it was probably due to sugar overload but figured out tonight it was probably some gum i was chewing that has aspartame in it.. .. so tonight --out with the gum-off the sweets and back to feeling good again.. I am going to start posting my PLAN of action for eating every-night before bedtime.. and then compare it the next night and see if I stayed on course.. Plan of Action Mondays Eats: Meal #1 Sha...

Saturday's run

I sure do miss my BFL friends posts! .. feeling a bit lonely out here in cyberspace :) yall hurry back! ya hear! Well.. had to put the run off until about 1230 but I got it done. I was feeling pretty good so I was able to do seven HIITS @ level 10.. the last one I really pushed and got about 40 secs at a level 10. I then did AB work.. I did incline situps with twists and hip-ups.. I woke up this morning sore in my back and chest.. and finally figured out I did pushups as part of my burnouts yesterday. Pushups seem to really work areas I dont work when I lift.. As I was looking forward to challenge #3.. I was wondering if you gals would want to do a 25 Days of Christmas Challenge. .. Here is what I was thinking.. I will finish this challenge on Dec 4th.. We could start a 25 day challenge on the 5th of December. We could even get specific .. in areas of eats, or fitness.. like.. "lowering carbs to get lean".. or "water only for 25 days" or "dont miss a workout...
Chest, Shoulders and Tris today. heres what I did: Chest: bench press on smith machine with flies on burn-outs Shoulders: flies with shoulder press as burn-outs Tris: Tri pull down on smith machine and tri extensions as burn-outs. Meals yesterday were ok.. I had 5.... but waited too long and ended up really hungry for supper.. I ended up eating 4 small rolls! (oh they were good!).. I also didnt have any other carb.. just broc along with meat. I also drank some DP .. just about 16 oz. today I am doing better.. so far peanut butter on toast with tea and water protein shake (oreo) after my workout. gotta go get to cleaning the house.. busy day.. also have to run to the store.. and the library.. more later.. r
ok finished the run and abs today.. I actually had a great workout! no tight calves, no sore back, no hurting feet! yipee! heres what i did 20 mins 1.5 miles 7 HIITS (one at 9.3 five at 10 and the last one at 10 but with an incline of 5) I must say the last HIIT was for the "just one more challenge".. and it KILLED me! Of course I feel great now! abs: I did 120 incline situps with the twists, two sets of leg lifts with the incline bench (my head was at the high end of the bench) and then I did hip ups (10) followed right by cruches with my knees coming to my chin too... I did two sets of those. Needless to say I was feeling the burn! I am looking forward to the weekend but a bit worried about the thankgiving holiday and all its food. I promise to not miss a workout and so far think my eating plan will work. My focus when eating during this holiday is to remember how it feels to have those tummy aches when I over eat.. or eat something that is too rich! I will post my meals la...

my thanksgiving plan

ok.. here is what i am thinking.. Thanksgiving is thursday.. i think i will make it to where I have two free meals that day. Maybe make my free day from 2 on Thursday to 2pm on Friday. . SO.. THIS Saturday .. which it usually my free DAY.. I will have just as a free meal! (one meal).. thats it.. then back on track.. I read in the BFL book last night.. "your free day is just that.. you are FREE to take it.. or FREE to leave it".. My eating was good today: meal 1: Eggs with one piece of toast.. water.. then tea meal 2: LEft overs speg meat sauce with one piece of bread and only garlic salt.. no butter meal 3: tea and cup of cheerios (plain cheerios).. meal 4: protein shake (banana) water water water (this was after I lifted.. was thirsty) meal 5: open face ham patty with ketchup and tea meal 6: (I might have a shake before bed.. but its only been 1.5 hours since i ate.. so we will see) so.. here are the positives from today: I DID NOT eat the cake at the party.. WOW.. Todays Eats

OK.. I am posting these.. not to proud of my eating as of late.. but that is why I am doing this! to get motivated, to keep me on course.. meal #1 .. tea and water (this was pre-workout.. so prob. shouldnt count as a meal) meal #2 .. after workout.. peanut butter crackers (4) tea meal #3.. flour tortilla with BUTTER ! Tuesday's done

Ok.. well I got todays workout done.. I did cardio on the mill.. with only 4 HIITS.. 1.45 miles. My left shin never did feel good so I decided to take it easy. Even after all the stretching I did it never did feel right. I decided progress would be the key word today .. so I took it easy. For abs today I did 70 incline sit-ups and thats it.. My abs are actually sore today so after reading some more in Absolution last night I decided to take it easy on them too.. I will hit them hard again on Friday after they have had some time to repair. I forgot to post my Turkey challenge meals yesterday: Meal 1: Marathon Bar and water (workout) Meal 2: 5 Crackers with peanut butter- Tea Meal 3: Marathon Bar and Tea Meal 4: very salty corn chips (about 6) - Tea Meal 5: baked chicken, sweet potato, brown rice with sugar, marg. - tea Meal 6: Oreo protein shake So.. I was not perfect yesterday but Its not that bad either. DH ran across town last night to get our protein which we were completely out of....

Monday C2 21 days to go---day 148 of 6 month challenge

Had a good workout this morning. I decided to switch back to 12.10.8.6. with burnouts of 24. It seems my workouts were just getting longer and longer.. Today it was GREAT.. in and done in 45mins! I did Chest, Shoulders, and Tris. I focused on burning out the muscles and I did.. so.. I think I will stick with 12.10.8.6.. I was reading a BFL yahoo group and someone posted a challenge for everyone to sit down and look at their calendar to plan ahead for the holidays. The "I dont want to exercise" blues

UGH.. today and yesterday I have had the "I dont want to excersise" blues. I knew I should have ran yesterday but I wanted to wait until today. NOW its cold, cloudy, and the day just has that "sit on my bottom all day" kinda day. Its so interesting to me that I still struggle with getting up and getting my excersise in. I would have thought that after sooooo many days it would be easy. But its NOT. I guess it never will be. Life just gets so busy, the house gets so messy, and everything needs to be done. Everything else is demanding my attetion.. and it seems like I just want to sit and ignore it! Sitting and ignoring it gets nothing done. The funny thing is.. the longer I go "dreading" my run.. the more stressed out I am becoming. I have a list of "I wants" going through my head... (do you ever do this?).. these are things I want to be doing instead of what I need to be doing OR things I wish would just magically get done: I want to sit at my n...

Me plus one

Well I guess its me plus one. (that is the title of a song I listen to when i run) Josha.. gona miss your posts.. Today was a good day. I decided to make today my day off AND my free day. I didnt eat real bad .. had a coke here or there and a burger at sonic but other than that.. a zero on the "eating until I am stuffed" monitor... so thats good. I went tonight at bought some new boots, black, high heal to wear to church etc. I also got a new black purse! .. This my friends is historic because I take forever to make a decision on purses..because I know I will be using it for atleast 5 years! OH.. and I also spent an eternity getting my eye brows under control! wow didnt know how out of wake my brows were! I almost feel like I should apologize to everyone who has seen me in the last month or.. ooohhh.. they were bad! Having a bit of a back issue today. I hugged my DH this yesterday and when he hugged back ..it popped my back.. ever since I have had tightness on my left side....

Well.. day 60 isnt so bad. This is my favorite shot. I was so surprised at the def in my back this time! You can click on the side bar and see the rest of the shots. ok.. heres the eats for today. the good the bad and the yummy :) Water Peanut Butter shake Tuna sandwich (one slice of bread) with 10 pringles and TEA Marathon Bar, cup of cheerios, and TEA Water Chicken breast (fried.. did I type "fried" oops.. I meant.. .. uh.. yep.. fried.) Steamed squash and zucchini, baked sweet potato, TEA Oreo Shake Well.. only got five in today.. oh well.. Ok.. so why does fried chicken tastes so much better than just baked chicken? hum.. Tonight was the first time in probably 6 months I made homemade fried chicken breast nuggets. I use to cook it atleast once a week.. sometimes twice! .. Needless to to say.. the kids have been asking for WEEKS! .. tonight I gave in. :) So.. hope that fried chicken doesnt show up on my pictures tomorrow. Its day 60 tomorrow. Only 24 days left. .. todays post

I was going to do it today but that would put doing abs two days in a row.. so I decided I just need to be happy with myself and understand that I missed it. I will do abs again on friday after HIITS. I started reading the Body for Life for Women book by Pamela Peeke. Last night I ran across Edith.. I had seen Edith before but had forgot her story. She is so inspiring I had to post her story! Its amazing how if you want something bad enough it doesnt matter how old, how fragile, or how far away from that goal you might be. I woke up this morning at 930 feeling very lethargic. My energy zapped from yesterdays tummy problems. Thank goodness those have gone away! (praise for pepto!).. but I can tell I had zero caleries in my body for zero energy. I decided to ride the recumbent bike for my cardio and I did not push myself to do sprints. I feel sooo much better afterward.. and I know i will feel even better after this banana puddin shake! I just think my body has finally developed my exercise and eating into a habit. When I go all day .. leaving my workout to the evening.. I get impatient and cant wait to get in the garage. ... working out feels good to me! and to think too that I crave healthy shakes instead of candy. I never would have thought it would be like this. I never did the program long enough for me to realize what living like this is really like. Now food is no big deal. Its no big deal cause I crave the good stuff.. which means i dont feel sad, or left out, or punished because "I 'ca...

Sick and Tired

Well .. today was a very interesting workout to say the least. First of all my sweet Mary Kay friend couldnt come over because I started having tummy troubles about 15 minutes before she got here. So I cancelled the appointment. I left my workout until 5pm because we had K.T. and K come over to play after school. So at 5 I hit the garage. Here is somewhat how it went.. hopefully you are not board with this but I want it in my journal because i know if I can get a complete workout in on a day like today.. feeling like I do.. than I can anytime.. Started with squats.. did one set of 15. (on smith machine) stopped.. had to run to the bathroom. continued with squats with high point at 105 set of 6 did a set of lunges as burnouts. started leg extensions.. 15.12.10.8. .. cat brings me the phone.. its a dear friend.. talked to her for 10 mins.. got disconnected.. while waiting for her to call back I did my set of 6. got off the phone with her.. had to go to the potty again. heading back to th...

getting it together

well it seems I just cant get it together these days.. five or six days out of the last two weeks I have actually gotten dressed to workout .. down to my shoes.. and then decided I either didnt have time.. or that other things were more important. This morning I was up at 730 .. dressed to workout.. but after getting the kids up and breakfast made.. then I was hungry.. I decided I needed a protein shake before my workout. (I was feeling weak) .. I wanted to be finished with my workout by 9 today.. but now its almost ten.. SO. I changed into my regular clothes and will begin school with the kids in a few minutes. (they are doing their chores right now).. DH is wanting me to follow him to the shop while he drives his car over there.. that is going to be around 11am.. I have my Mary Kay friend coming today at 1, then DH wanted to go look at new cell phones after work.. Sounds like school will be in spurts today (which is best for J.).. Saturday Free Day

Well.. today is my free day.. and boy is it free.. I decided NOT do my cardio today because it was such a busy day. Busy but fun. So I will do cardio in the morning before church. Although its free day with eats I havent eating that bad. Went to Tamale's for chips and hot sauce.. and had a little pizza tonight. Funny though.. I am craving a banana puddin shake. so thats for it tonight.. I am off to get things ready for Sunday morning and get to bed early.. :)

Feeling like I am hanging on

Why get on the treadmill in the refrigerated garage of course! After my workout last night in the cool garage.. I realized that all this fussing and worrying about it being cold in there when i work out is just a bunch of bunk. I HATE being cold. When I get cold.. I stay cold all day it seems like. So.. walking into a cold garage to lift weights was not an easy thing for me to do.. but i did it. Then this morning I read the thermometer outside and it said 34 degrees! My first thought was.. "OH grief its gona be cold in the garage." and my second thought "I will just wait until 3. thats the w...
