quick post busy day

copy and paste this link to see my "todays inspirational person" (sorry.. a 6 year old broke my mouse and now i am having issues with creating links) 60 year old lady who did body for life.. http://www.bodychangers.com/pic_gallery_full.php?id=17 This mornings bike ride was great! 8.5 miles in 40mins with average speed of 13mph!(if you read this earlier I had a much higher mph .. i misfigured :) but 13 mph is not a bad average for riding that far :) i was tired but still managed to take cat on a 1.5 mile ride right after getting done. I will also take the rest of the kids (jo, nate, cat AND a cousin) around campus after breakfast :) busy day today.. pack, bathe the dog, clean out car, laundry, running to the health store to get some more CLA... the list goes on and on.. will post my eats when I can.. dont know if it will be tonight thought.. leaving for San Antonio this afternoon.. Todays Inspirational Person!

I was looking back on the past year and I became sooo inspired when I saw the transformation Josha has made! So Josha.. Today you are the "Inspirational Person of the Day" Pictures work a 1000 words! Just the Best Sunday!

Today was a great day. It rained a downpour this afternoon and then cleared off and was just beautiful! So pretty in fact that I decided to take Su for a run around campus :) We did 2.5 miles in about 40 mins.. thats not a great speed but I did walk quite a bit of it:) At any rate.. Bike ride was awesome!UPDATED

A all new mileage high for me today! I took the dog and Cat on a mile ride before leaving to ride in the country with friends... the day was beautiful ... a bit hot (in the 80s) but great for this time of year! We did 16.58 miles together! average speed was 10.5 miles per hour.. which is not bad for how far we went... We are all very excited and hope to be able to break 20 mile mark next time around!! :) yipee! what fun! After the ride T and I went to subway and at lunch.. it was fun too.. we really didnt want to go in the store in our bike shorts but decided 1. we were hungry and 2. our bottoms are cute enough to not care :) hehe... so total mileage today is 17.58:) I will probably take the kids around campus later this evening so who know what the miles will add up to:) Loving life.... need a shower... more later:) ||||||||||||||||update||||||||||||||||||| 919pm. just got home from riding bikes with the family around campus. I figure 2 miles riding the bike and then one mile walking ...

answer and thoughts (updated link)

to answer joshas question as to how long my bike rides take.. when I go by myself I can do 9 or 11 miles in about 45 mins. this is around campus and my neighborhood.. riding at an average speed of 10 to 14 miles per hour. When I ride with the girls.. we go a bit slower with the highest speed being 10 miles per hour.. The last two times I went with the girls I was back home in about 2 to 2.5 hours.. but that counts driving to the location, visiting before and after etc.. Speaking of biking.. I drove my car up Steamboat Mountain .. Its more of a hill but a big one.. not like the mountain that josha lives on.. but the drive up was amazing with an incredible view.. I have heard of people running Steamboat and biking it.. in fact tomorrow the bike race (which I wanted to go to) they are riding up and down it :) ... I decided not to do the race cause none of the girls I ride with want to do it.. .. so I guess I will wait until next year.. BUT .. I told my friend today that we MUST go ride t...

ultra fast typing here! UPDATED

ok.. so.. 15 min until we leave to go swimming with the cousins :) so not much time... I just finished upper body, incline chest press, flies, shoulder flies and press, and tri pulls/extensions.. my muscles are tired! so thats good..I will do pushups and some upper body work with the exercise ball this afternoon:) I have done the lifting before breakfast but I have a shake to drink on the way to the pool :) will pack on target eats for lunch and plan to not start my free day until tomorrow morning (not that I am craving anything).. more later tonight after I successfully make a great day of eats! :) one brick at a time builds a new building, one day at a time builds a new body!!.... heres to having the first few brinks of the day in place already:) UPDATE: swimming was great.. eats were on track with the exception of 4 skittles :) will have free meal tonight and then on track eats for breakfast tomorrow morning as I am going for a bike ride in the country again :) hope to do around 1...

Cardio Thursday (UPDATED)

Good morning.. a beautiful morning today! I got up and out the door by 725 this morning.. did 7.5 miles around campus and did the main drive hill twice at the end.. killing my legs! wow.. those hills make the legs burn! after the ride I did some abwork.. so now I will be back on schedule:) taking the kids swimming this morning.. at the state park so I better go and get the kitchen clean and things ready to go.. hows your morning? blessings r UPDATE: ok.. today was really really busy.. I stayed on program eats until supper tonight .. I had a girls night out with a friend and we went to olive garden.. I just ate a free meal and decided to cut my free day a meal short..,. .. on the topic of free days.. I read on someone elses blog that does bfl that she figured out that she has 4 meals a week that can be free.. sometimes she spreads them out during the week and sometimes she has them all on one day... but as long as she only has 4 free meals a week and gets back on track then she has done...

todays eats-extra thoughts

eats for today: Bfast: eggs and toast creatine after workout (i was full from the creatine .. which was just like koolaid.. so I couldnt eat my full about of lunch..see below) Lunch:1/2 can tuna with 1 egg 1/2 piece of bread 1/2 cup cheerios 4oz yogart with tea (i started feeling like I had NO energy so I decided I didnt eat enough carbs) Supper: hamburger patty with brown onion gravy with onion and mushrooms, sweet potato.. tea Shake (oreo.. it was yummy) I wanted to share something that I have noticed about the people I have seen on "I lost it" and Biggest Looser" .. Without fail every single person I have seen on these shows.. so far.. were turning to food as a comfort because of situations that happened in their life.. I have always turned to food when i would get stressed or sad. It always made me feel better and took my mind off of stresses in my life. I have been learning over the last year that I did have this issue with food as well.. and the longer i live the B...

forgot to mention..

2 other "secrets": I also started adding more fiber to my diet.. Oroweat double fiber bread. If you eat two slices you get 50% of the dietary fiber for the day. click on this to see their sight. Without giving you too much information.. lets just say.. this bread really helped me :) and it also tastes really really good! oh yeah.. and a 20 year reunion helps to motivate me too :) esp when I havent seen but 2 people from my class since graduation night! I could go into all the reasons why this is a huge motivator for me.. but that will have to wait. :) ok.. so I did my abs today.. so I can check that off.. I was debating on taking creatine..and I actually took some today after I lifted but I am going to wait and do some more reading.. from what I read so far it actually is more for gaining weight and can make you retain water (two things I would like to avoid thank you very much) ok.. gotta go clean some more.. ):) more tomorrow :)

ok.. today is weekly picture day.. so cat took some shots first thing this morning.. and ladies.. I cant believe the muscles that are showing up! esp in my back! I am so thrilled to visually see the progress that I knew I was feeling but I had NO idea I was actually getting so cut :) The first bi pic is from after challenge 2.. the other two are from this morning.. Do you like to wake up to a great cup o coffee? Well I dont.. but this morning I feel like I drank 6 cups of the stuff! Why? you ask... well its because of endorphins AHH.. the best cup of coffee I never had! I did cardio first thing this morning.. there is just something about getting up while everyone else is still asleep and be alone for a while...watching the sunrise while breathing in the cool morning air! Its definately the best time of day to do cardio for many reasons.. heres mine: I can get up and get out without any interuption, knowing that I WILL get cardio done and not have to wait until someone can watch the kids... ( happened last time I was to do cardio.. as I was leaving.. literally going out the door.. DH got a phone call that he had to go to work.. ... leaving me stressed ... I tried hard not to be.. but i was... ... maybe THATs why i had such a great run :) I burn more fat first thing in the morning.. If you workout on an empty stomach and do cardio then you burn mo...

today has been great so far.. mile bike ride with the kids around the neighborhood.. Beautiful morning! .. then home for some pushups, chest flies, shoulder flies and press, laying tri extensions and tri pull downs... then some work on the exercise ball! .. Feeling great.. Super Sunday

Do you ever wonder about people you see out exercising? Around campus I am so encouraged by so many people who are out exercising... kids, moms, grandmas, very large people, and very lean people, and people in between...people biking, roller blading, walking, running, and even rolling in their wheelchairs!! ... families and people by themselves... I always wonder what got all of them out the door and on the track. I would love to ask.. but .. of course I have no time to talk .. too busy breathing :) ... I would love to have a t-shirt made some day... that says " HEY YOU!thanks for getting out the door and exercising today... you really are inspiring!".... Tonight we took the kids up to the track around campus and rode our bikes.. 4.5 miles as a family.. no THATS cool! .. I came home afterward, grabbed my IPOD and went running by myself.. 2.5 miles.. I was so very excited that I felt GREAT when I ran! I only walked about 40 yards of all the 2.5.... the rest I ran! I guess all ...

Bike Texas Country

AHHH.. what a joyful ride this morning! met the girls at 745 this morning and drove to another friends house who lives in the country.. we road about 13 miles. Beautiful weather.. no wind,... cloudy but not rainy.. just a perfect day for a ride. Our average speed was 10MPH which isnt bad for the hills we had to climb! K(the most experienced rider) said this ride was in her #2 spot for riding in around our area :) I rode from Ts house back to mine (about 1/4 of a mile) and found my family had gone to grandma and grandpas house.... so.... I just rode over there.. DH thinks its about three miles to their house... so that would make my total 16 miles ! wow!!! :) I am sooooooo sore from lunges yesterday... I thought my riding would loosen me up a lot.. it did a bit.. but I still had to stretch when I got home :) (the exercise ball is great for stretching by the way!).. I got a bike book at the library the other day... called "Cycling Texas" It has bike routes all through texas.. I...

pre workout post this morning+UPDATE

had a great nights sleep last night... could it have been all those miles I rode? .,. anyway.. I am being encouraged every morning.. it seems that my body is finally transforming again! I have noticed my waist and back getting leaner... the awesome news is.. my "tummy" with all my wrinkily skin is really changing... it seems to me if I keep it up the loose tummy skin WILL tighten up and look much much better! .. it does already :) I am so thrilled :) I will update when I can probably not until late tonight.. plan on legs and abs this morning.. then a date :) yipee! happy friday just checking in before going out to eat and movie.. my workout is done lunges, squats, extensions, deadlifts, lat pull downs, bent over flies and rows, curls curls curls .. will do abs after movie :) UPDATE: ok.. heres my eats: cheerios, dry, two handfuls, water out to eat meal (free) grilled chicken, augratin potatoes, salad, bread, coke(not bad for free meal.... more cheerios with milk two slices of...

another busy day today .. but a good day. This morning I took the kids to the state park to go swimming... The kids had a great time.. and it was great to visit with my sweet friend. .. I came home tired.. I think because I didnt eat enough at lunch.. so.. I rested while watching a recorded episode of the biggest looser .. it was so inspiring! I then did a bit of cleaning and got ready to ride as soon as my DH came home. Heres my eats and workout for today: eggs and toast 2 slices of ham with mustard and a few chips, 1 cheeto :) 1/2 of a new peanut butter nutrition bar a whole peanut butter nutrition bar chicken with bbq sauce, peas and green beans, 1 piece of bread will have a shake tonight workout? cardio today 10.5 miles around campus I did this in 45 mins.. DH helped me figure out my average speed per hour and it was 14MPH! not bad for an old gal huh?(esp in 90plus degree heat and it was windy!) after the 10.5 around campus and back i needed to cool down so I came home and go the ...

I know its late but I had to post my eats and workout... i am sooo very thrilled cause I just got off the video phone with my friend how lives in China... so very cool to talk to her .. like she's really just right here :) ok,. enough chit chat.. down to business here: eats? *eggs and toast *half a sonic burger and a few chips (yes company was still here) *yogart and granola (I tried to workout a few hours after eating the sonic burger but I had zero energy.. )... the all carb meal.. helped get me through my workout *hamburger patty with hot sauce and 5 corn chips.. *shake tea and water all day today :) workout.. well.. started at 930 this morning.. did not even make it to the garage.. lightening speed post here :)

heres a breakdown of my day: breakfast eggs and toast watched my new favorite show I recorded "I Lost IT" from discovery health and got inspired mowed the yard (front and back) snack of choc covered raisins (only 10) took DH to get the car in the shop Lunch (chicken from chicken express, 4 corn poppers, and half a roll) library with the kids cleaned house ate a snack (lf cheese stick 1.5, 4 crackers) rode recumbant bike 6.5 miles while watching part of a movie .. sisterhood of the traveling pants... looked good.. never seen it.. stopped watching it so have now idea what happens now I am blogging fixing to shower company coming, bring pizza.. I will visit and wait until 7 and eat my meal which will not include pizza :) visit some more have shake go to bed early .,. Eats have been great today.. eggs toast taco salad apple peanut butter 3 whole wheat crackers hamberger patty with salad tonight at DHs m&ds .. shake before bed. workout? lunges, extensions, deadlifts, bicep curls, back lat pull downs.. I was sooo so tired after my legs that I really had to push myself through the rest of the workout.. but i did it :) tired.. need to leave for supper at Nana's :) how was your day?

Sunny Sunday

Things I learned so far today: 1. From my last ride: if the back tire on you bike wiggles while riding and the chain makes a funny noise surely something is wrong. 2. Today: if you go to get your kick stand up and the tire is in the way and wont rotate.. something is def. wrong. What was wrong you ask? well.. the WHOLE tire was outside the notch on the frame it was suppose to be bolted into! I guess it came loose while riding last time or two I didnt even know it! .... I could have had a serious wreck!.... thank goodness I found out before i was going ninety to nothing down hill! :) So.. for the mechanical reason above I was about 25 mins late starting my ride this morning.. so I only got 6.5 miles in this morning before church.. BUT I AM HOOKED on riding at 6ish... it was beautiful.. almost cold to me:) and NO traffic! eats? ok today.. had a bobble.. but the house is clean and I didnt have to cook... I am back on track for sure now.. friends coming over to play games and eat .. have...

Questions Answered. :):updated:)

1. What's the biggest change you have noticed since starting your program? Since starting this challenge I have noticed I have much more energy than I use too... also I am sleeping much much much better. Could it be that I am taking CLA and NOT on caffine anymore?.. I think so :) 2. What's your biggest obsticle? Myself. Not staying true to my plan. Esp when it comes to getting back on track after free days. .. sometimes my free day trickles over into a free weekend.. :) 3. Favorite quick snack to grab and go? Water and a marathon bar OR a cheese stick and a few sunchips. 4. If you could buy one piece of exercise equipment that you dont have .. what would it be and why? lifting done... and then some

A front was on its way bringing rain with it.. which is GREAT.. but our lawn needed mowing BEFORE it started raining.. so.. I mowed the front and side yards before breakfast this morning... I did it as fast as I could.. took 20 mins.. and I was huffin and puffin when I was done :) .. I ate breakfast (cheerios in lfmilk and 1 piece of high fiber bread) and lifted weights. I wanted to get it done this morning so I could have the rest of the day to paint my bedroom furniture :) (chocolate brown).. But Angell called right after chest was done.. so I took a break to talk with her :) .. 40 mins later .. back to the garage for shoulders and tris.. I didnt do abs yesterday so after i got my big ex ball out and did abs and some pushups with my legs on the ball and my hands on the ground..... I am trying not to get too excited but I am really starting to see some major changes. My calves and legs are looking more and more muscular.. and I am def. Loosing fat.. Cardio

Another 10 miles today for cardio..I focused on really pushing myself hard even on the downhills.. I am exhausted! I really kicked my own bottom tonight!... nothin left to give. Eats are good for today: *eggs and toast *2 slices of ham and 2 slices of turkey with mustard rolled inside, one LF cheese *stick, 5 chips, I put the bread on the plate but it just didnt sound good.. so I didnt eat it. *cup of cheerios, string LF Motz. cheese stick, *3/4 apple with organic peanut butter (bike ride after I made family supper.. I saved mine for after my ride) *chicken breaded with bread crumbs cooked in olive oil and then baked in oven, green beans, a small about of corn, half a sweet potato. *will have shake before bed :) ok.. gotta go.. more after I lift tomorrow. :)

Was THAT me?

WOW .. what a great workout this morning! Heres that I did: Lunges (4 sets of 15) Dancer Squats as burnouts Leg extensions (4 sets of 15) Leg Curls (4 sets of 15) Lat pull downs on Smith Machine bent over rows as burnouts Bicept Hammer curls (12.10.8.6) with Alrnold Curls as burnouts when I say "was that ME?" I mean the person that just completed 6 Hammer curls with 25lbs in each hand! The last two were tough but I got them! I just cant believe I am able to do that much weight.. ... A girl shouldnt be able to lift THAT much,.. esp me.. who started out with green bean cans as my high point many years ago.. :) so cooll..... ! cardio..hot and humid!

Hello everyone.. I am typing from my Dhs new lap top... its super fancy... and since I cant get on the net until I get my computer updated I will have to suffer through posting on his fancy imac:) ... Ok.. back to business here.. I didnt get to workout until 830 tonight... cardio for me today.. It was so late and I was worried about getting enough miles in on the bike before dark .. so.. I ran around campus.. 2.5 miles with 5 Hiits! It was 85 degrees out there with 78% humidity! ugh.. felt like I was in Houston! After the run I did abs.. first on the excersise ball.. .. 5 sets of 12. then bike ab things (you know where oposite elbow to knee?) .. and then.. THEN I did some planks! three sets counting to 20.. then I had the kids time me to see how long I could hold the last one.. I was so tired I only lasted 1 minute.. ugh.. I think sore abs are in the planner for me tomorrow. Eats were ok today.. heres the spifics:) eggs with high fiber toast ham on one slice of bread with a tiny bit o...

Its a Monday! (UPDATE)

Well, I have gotten a LOT done today.. but one of them has yet to be working out. I have been reorganizing/decluttering the boys room. I was up until 130am last night working and I JUST finished! needless to say it was horrible! .. but it has been transformed! I have been struggling to get back on good eats this time.. but the last two meals I am back on track. I havent eating "bad" (like sweets) but have just been eating too many carbs and not enough protein.. soo.. I am back too it on the eats.. I plan to work out in an hour (after I fix the family supper) .. will update then.. ________update______ Ok.. had a great upper body workout.. heres what i did chest press on the smith machine high point 85 6 times burnouts mens pushups 24 with three "20 second rests" in there somewhere.. Straight arm flies for shoulders with press as burnouts smith machine tri pull downs.. with laying extensions as burnouts. After I lifted.. I made DH a hamburger for supper and then heade...

quick post

fast post before we leave..... family came into town today... we are off to visit some more with them :) Last night at 6 started free day... Olive Garden was sooooo good! Although its free day I have watched my sugar intake and I have felt good all day. I did workout.. this afternoon 86 degrees outside and 80% humidity. It WAS hot. but I did 10.5 miles.. on the bike.. the first 9 miles by myself and the last 1.5 with Cat. I was a great workout.. but I am now tired AND hungry. all for now. .more later.. "keep on trucking" R OH.. almost forgot.. remember I did lunges yesterday? ah.. well.. I am soooooo sore today its NOT even funny. I didnt get loosened up on the bike until mile 7! Those lunges work a part of my tush that never gets worked when I do squats, or extension, or leg curls..

Three Bs a Ride and some Peaches

I got up this morning and did the three Bs. Lunges: 12.10.8.6. squats as burnouts leg extensions 12.10.8.6 leg curls 12.10.8.6 Lat pull downs 12.10.8.6 burnouts bent over rows bicep curls and hammer curls 12.10.8.6. burnouts hammer curls with arms rotated out slightly. It was a good hard.. exhausting workout. I am sore from my lifting from two days ago.. so I think I am going pretty well. After lifting Cat wanted to go on a bike ride.. so I asked DH if he wanted to go and we road as a family around out neighborhood. It was fun.. did about 1.5 miles .. oh..and su went too. After the ride we went over to DHs grandmas house and put netting around several of her peach trees so the birds wouldnt get to them. We worked for about an hour or so .. most of my time was spent squatting under the small tress clothes pinning the netting underneath. My legs felt strong.. but tired when I was done with all that. ok... better go.. need to clean the kitchen and then head back to grandmas to finish up ...

10 miles! --PICTURES update

Went by myself this morning to ride my bike. I did 10 miles! Eight of those around campus where I hit the "hill" 4 times and today I did something I had never done before.. instead of coasting down hill I shifted to a higher gear and went as fast as I could. It was an amazing workout! Riding the way I did I had about 8 Hiits! I worked so hard in fact that I got a bit nauseated. I use to do this in my softball days and asked a trainer about it before .. he said that its because your body is releasing a certain chemical, thats its ok. I plan on going shopping today for a few new shirts and some shorts. I HATE shopping these days.. because I never know what size I wear in what brand. I wish the companies would do clothes by the waist measurement like they do with men. Eats so far today: cheerios in milk (a serving) two deviled eggs, 5 sun chips. Happy Independence Day!--updated(again)(and again!)

This time last year I was a completely different person. I was frustrated with myself and made a mental challenge to myself that THIS 4th of July I would look and feel different! And boy do I! This picture shows me last year weighing 160ish I had back, ab, and feet problems! Its so nice to celebrate todays 4th with energy, strength, and a feeling of accomplishment! I plan on taking another picture in the same swing later today but will have to wait until 1. i finish my workout and 2 I get batteries for my camera! Today my eats were good. Water all today and one glass of tea.. also took CLA for the first time. I had NO cookies and ice cream, and I steered around the "bring your favorite cereal for breakfast" (no fruitloops for me today thankyou! :) heartland granola with almonds and dried fruit added, low fat milk 1 lf cheese stick and 5 sunchips two pieces of turkey with boiled egg and mustard rolled like a burrito.. a serving of sunchips. busy but good

bike ride before breakfast only 4.5 miles with 2 hard hills mowed yard painted stars on road to line the parade route in our neighborhood took an hourish painted my address on my driveway like the texas flag (pics later) visited with postlady, neighbors, etc etc weed eated yard hedged shrubs road bikes with cat .. about a mile .. she got a new bike today! did pushups and curls and abs took shower went to vit plus.. got 2 tubs of protien and twin labs cla! yipee went to walmart came home did dishes made shake went to the grocery store cleaned out fridge oh.. forgot.. between some of those things I put on aloe lotion on my sunburn from being outside allll day.. I reapplied sunscreen several times but missed a section of my thigh! ouch! its gona be bad tomorrow came to post eats? corn bran cereal half a pb&j with a few sunchips lowfat cheese stick, boiled egg, a few sunchips protien shake boiled egg with 1/4 cup organic grape juice eats were off today cause I didnt want to stop workin...

Today was a good day

here's why: I exercised hard! I ate well I worked hard Laundry half way done! Car in the garage! You might notice I added a "weight loss" ticker to the side bar.. I have always loved tickers and thought this would be fun. I have a goal of getting down to 120lbs. This weight is right in the middle of the range for healthy weight for my height. I have said many times "i dont care how much I weigh.. as long as I have muscle and am healthy." But now that I have thought about it.. I DO care... because if I didnt I would still weight the 168lbs I use too. So.. I think that if my goals are to be healthy to be strong to be fit and I can accomplish these while reaching my goal weight.. then everything's great! So.. Heres to another goal.. and another way to become a more fit, energetic me! :)

Today-why its important to blog!

quick post before finishing the major cleaning of the garage/gym. I have not done the three bs yet.. but plan to do a bit of legs, back and bis as soon as the garage is finished. I DID go for a 56 min bike ride this morning approx 9 miles with 5 HARD hills. My legs were screaming quit and I was sucking wind like a maniac. .... it was a great workout. eats so far today: corn bran cereal-1 serving bike ride 2. taco salad with 5 chips 3. low fat cheese sticks (1.5) with 5 whole wheat crackers almost ordered pizza cause I didnt want to cook .. dirty kitchen since I was in the garage alllll day.. but saw this ..... and was determined not to mess up my eats today! (Amazing what a post will do!... It also made me realize how important it is to blog!..We never know who is having a "weak moment" and needing the encouragement of our posts! ... Thanks Josha .. I needed that!) 4. had tuna with egg and dill relish on one slice of bread I have had TONS of water today... and ...

I am back

well.. it wasnt the Caribbean.. but it was fun anyway :) Camping went well.. I will post more about it on my other blog tomorrow... as far as my program is concerned I did pretty well with exercises. Rode bikes every day.. and Sat Tammy came out and put me thru a good spin for about 40 mins.. I was already tired from the ride we took early that morning but it felt great to ride and not have to worry where the kids were and if car were coming etc.. Eats.. well.. considering my free day was during my vacation I guess it wasnt too far off. My free day.. however.. ended with a nauseating tummy ache.. too many fried pickles I guess :).. I really thought I would wake in the middle of the night and be sick.. but thankfully.. I didnt. Concidering I ate a few too many carbs and I drank a few cokes while camping.. I am NOT looking forward to my pic I plan to take on Tuesday. Things I learned: fried pickles are yummy too many fried pickles and oreos an hour later are not yummy I need to figure o...
