I just uploaded my week ten pictures.. see on the side bar under challenge 5 progress photos :) today has been great.. A is here again and its great to see her! .. My abeka came today so that was exciting too! now to get organized!!! :) ok.....gotta go have fun with Angell :) more tomorrow after I lift :)

20 min is all you need :)

this morning didnt go as planned. Woke up on "time" but DH had to be at work early. I was dressed and ready to go riding and when I got my bike out.. the tire was flat.. .. which usually isnt a problem. We have an air compressor and it only takes a few seconds to air it up. The only problem was the air compressor didnt have any air and I didn have time to let it run etc. I also had a shirt I needed to iron for DH. (I pays to do the ironing all at one time :) .. so.. I changed clothes (from biking to running) and ironed his shirt. That left me exactly 20 mins to get cardio done if i wanted to do it outside without the kids:) .. SO I hightailed it campus.. ran for 9 mins and took a "short" cut and ran home I had 5 hitts.. and by the time i got home I was so hot and sweaty you would have though I was running for my life! :) .. After making a shake for DH (mines in the fridge.. cause I like to wait 1 hour after cardio to eat).. I sent DH off and did abwork on the ball. ...

Morning a great time to workout (UPDATE)

UPDATE!923pm I just took my pictures.. but dont have time AND cant find the cord to my camera to load my pics.. I will try and find it and post them tomorrow morning.. already sore from lifting AND yoga! I had no Idea yoga was so demanding! wowzer! more tomorrow after I bike :) hope to see the sunrise again! :) hugs R ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I got up and lifted early this morning. DH has gotten up 4 out of the 5 days this past week and worked out.. one day gettin up at 545! wow. .. So this morning I decided to join him :) .. It was early but is sure was great to get the lifting out of the way before the day started to get busy:) I was in the "gym" before seven this morning! :) Heres what I did: lunges, ballerina squats, deadlifts, back flies and rows, bi curls. I am going to do some yoga in a few min.. I think I did something to my back when I was lifting so I need to stretch it a bit.. and.. more importantly.. I cant believe how sore yoga made me! esp in my rib cage...

oh what a beautiful mornin!

I just couldnt resist posting this video! I MUSTS get this movie and let the kids see it.. they have never watched it! wow. Was up before the sun this morning! 6.5 miles around campus.. but the awesome thing was that i got to see the Lunar Eclipse AND the amazing sun rise!!! what an amzing way to start the day! I am off to finish my shake and get ready for the rest of the day :) .. OH WHAT a DAY!

ok.. first.. let me get my eats out of the way. 1. eggs high fiber toast tea 2. fat free bean K-so-D-aaaaahhhh with low carb tortilla, 4 chips, hot sauce, small amount of motz cheese 3. apple and peanut butter (natural), 4 crackers 4 chicken breast, small potato baked, green beans steamed tea 5 banana puddin shake :) water and tea all day :) took cla feeling great! ok.. drum roll please! I am completely.. I mean completely caught up on my laundry.. the laundry demon has been multiplying my laundry for months.. to give you a perspective.. today my long johns are clean!!! they have been in the dirty clothes since last winter! Embarrassing i know.. but I have literally been feeling overwhelmed by my laundry for years. Until.. Until.. I got a clothes line! Yes ladies.. my clothes dryer broke last thursday! I took 8 loads to the laundry mat on sunday and waited for 30 mins for a dryer to become available.. but it just wasnt going to happened.. so I declared war.. and off to walmart for a ...

fast post.. 5 min until bookwork

I have 5 mins until we begin our schoolwork.. so this will be fast tris, chest and shoulders done in 15 min.. I did 4 sets of 15 on each body part.. then I decided to try my Inhale yoga that I had recorded about 3 weeks ago.. i am soooo sore and tight that i really needed to stretch.. I loved the yoga and plan to do it everyday.. I could hardly hold some of the positions and did only 8 mins or so of the routine.. but I know if I keep going I will improve.. so.. all for now.. bookwork, history and Bible are waiting for me.. more later when I post my eats :)

one more post

just one more post before i get to bed.. before ten i might add! I am sooooooo sore I can hardly walk! . I can only imagine what tomorrow will be like cause I am always worse the second day.. !!!! Its my thighs.. the front quads.. they were jelly yesterday.. and today.. well.. its hard to describe.. someone dropped a 100lb weight on my thighs and just left it there! so.. when you hear a scream at 7am tomorrow.. dont worry.. its justme getting up in the morning :)

fast sunday post

just finished a 6 mile bike ride.. .. happy I got up early and got it done before church this morning.. I had to cause I am so sore from lifting yesterday!!! I feel better now.. but I have to get going.. need to get ready for worship happy Lords Day! hugs R

the Big Debate (UPDATED)

I have been having this big debate in my head the last two weeks. I found myself talking myself out of going to my reunion. "why would I want to spend THAT much money PLUS gas etc etc to just see some people for an hour and a half." I was still trying to make up my mind even today.. but was leaning towards just not going. THEN I talked to my Sis. and she told me about her 20 year reunion and that how she has never regetted going and how she saw people and how it was just so wonderful. Then she started saying how .. and I quote (well not a direct one but close): "you have worked so hard .. you whole blog is dedicated to this.. you HAVE to let yourself go to the party you have been working so hard for.. you deserve to have a great time and enjoy the fun at the end of the journey you create for yourself. PLUS you can't have a blog dedicated to your 20 year reunion and then NOT go!" then.. she said something that made me laugh but I cant remember what it was.. but i...

my thursday

Ahh.. it is to nice to have Angell here :). and I am even more excited she gets to come back next week and stay a few days >) My eats were good today.. with the exception of eating Chicken express for Supper .. i was on target.. .. I didnt get up to do cardio this morning.. but A and i went for a 2.5 mile walk tonight after the sun went down.. it was great fun to going walking with her :) gotta go get to bed more after lifting tomorrow morning blessings r

Door #1

you know how when you addicted to cokes, or sugar, or whatever.. and you dont eat it you start to feel bad.... low energy, and just sometimes start to feel like you are just having a bad day.. Well.. thats what i felt like today. It seems I need to rethink my schedule a bit.. I havent been getting up before everyone else because DH has been working until late or we have just stayed up late because of other things. As a result i feel like I wake up and I am behind. i dont like that.. not at all.. today.. call it a day? hum

well.. I am wondering if today should just be called done. I rode bikes with the kids this morning, and in the past i would have considered that my workout.. but I have gotten so use to getting a WORKOUT in .. by myself, away from the kids and one that kicks my little tushy.. that it just doesnt seem right to call it a workout for the day. I have begun schooling the kids.. and its amazing how busy my days have been.. I really need to start getting up early in the morning and working out..but my DH has been having to work late (tonight he will not be home until 11).. so..I end up staying up late and getting up when he does.. ending up in a morning with no alone time to workout.. hopefully next week his work will calm down a bit and I can get on a better schedule. so. i am not sure what I will do tonight.. I need to begin painting so I can get some canvas and windows done .. with a goal of getting some things in the shops by thanksgiving.. and in time for the holiday shopping season .....

Back at it (UPDATED)

just a quick update... AC is fixed! yipee!... about 15 mins ago.. nothing like a 28 dollar piece of relay and a AC friend who lives down the street! ... sweet! also.. cat wanted to go walk around campus tonight so her and I and the pup had a great walk-jog after dark... it was great ... all for now..more tomorrow --------------------------- today is not a normal day. We began school this morning and I didnt get up early enough to get my workout done before we started school.. but the good news is.. first period at our house is PE... so we went on a long bike ride around our neighborhood first thing. .. then it was time for math and spelling and all the other things. our AC is out.. so the kids did their bookwork on the patio under the shade tree this morning.. it was actually really nice out there. :) .. I made lunch for the kids and hit the garage while they were eating :) .. so.. chest, shoulders and tris are done.. I have done one set of pushups and will do two more before getting r...
ok.. Well... its like I cant post unless i am hot and sweaty :) .. so here it goes .... (oh..and I figured out I post better when I stink too :) so.. heres the deal: Went to Houston had a blast. no workouts (3 days in a row) no good eats (today is my fourth day but I got back on track at 3pm today) We had a wonderful time in houston I have all my things ordered and or purchased for our schooling and it feels good to have that all done :) A and A(my sil friend) had lots of fun shopping, eating at really fun resturaunts (like cafe adobe, cheesecake factory, and others.). and getting to see Bourne Ultimatem .. I LOVE that series of movies! Angell made the BEST popcorn i have ever tasted ( we got a large and split it.. she did her magic with the butter and salt.. and OH my.. what a tummy ache was to come! :) so.. a nice relaxing fun filled weekend. We got home this afternoon... made it back in only 5.5 hours (traffic was GREAT) but when we got home our AC unit wasnt working correctly.. so ...

BOOM< there I went!

ahg.. two falls this week is enough for me on the ole bike! i have had my fair share.. now its someone elses turn :) I fell again tonight on campus while trying to go from grass to the sidewalk.. my tire go stuck on the edge of the side walk and BOOM there I went.. down for the count.. I guess I am good at falling cause both times this week I have hardly a scratch on me :) so cardio today was 12 miles with 3 hard hills and 4 kinda hard hills :) and one fall :) I havent done abs yet but will in a few minutes while I watch tv and relax before eating my supper:) I am still feeling "bloated" from Tom.. but hope that will all straighten up tomorrow or the next day :) eats today? they are all good.. I am on track with eats and it makes me feel so great! on the rest of my life front... did a bit of reorganizing again today.. need to finish that tomorrow.. and pack to leave on thur morning... good news.. meeting tomorrow morning about the HS co-op AND I have a meeting tomorrow with ...

amazing monday!

Ahh.. feels great to be back to normal!!!! slept late (of course) made a shake for myself and DH (banana puddin) checked email took the kids for a bike ride (su too) about 1.5 miles lifted weights 3 bs today Booty: lunges plie squats (really starting to love these.. i made my stance a lot wider this time.. I could see my hammies!!that was fun too see!) leg extensions dead lifts (slllow) Back: seated rows until burned out Bis: standing curls 4 sets of as many as could do i recorded a "my workout" for booty and abs and i am going to test it here in a minute for a little extra today :) My tummy feels so great today! and My energy levels are back to normal! Sunday report.. on Monday

its after midnight on Sunday but I am wide awake and decided to post a bit. first of all. wondering why I am up so late? Well. We took the kids to the country and watched the meteor shower tonight.. it was fantastic.. cat said she saw 16 ... and we weren't there at peak viewing either.. :) Next year we are going to plan a camping trip around the shower.. now THAT would be fun! :) (i will post more about it on my other blog tomorrow :) So.. today was free from working out.. and eating was spose to be on track .. I did ok until noon. We had caregroup and met or lasagna and bread at a class members house. Heres my list of eats for today: peanut bar with 2 sips dr pepper (this was in class at church.. we woke up late.. were late to church.. and I was late to bible class.. so I just took a few sips of DHs drink) Lunch: Caregroup. I had the meat part of the lasagna, greenbeans, a big salad and water. I did really great I thought.. but then. it hit me... peach cobbler.. on the dessert tab...

Saturday update

fast update.. busy saturday.. free day until supper tonight.. then back on track got to go ride with Tam after all..(she decided not to go out of town) her and K and I road 15 miles today out in the country and by a lake just outside of town.. it was a great morning and such a fun ride:) It feels great to have a nice long relaxing ride done for the day:)

friday fun

well I felt bad all day yesterday.. i think it was a virus I got from Cat.. we are all fine now .. I woke up feeling good.. so I made breakfast (a shake) for DH and I and then I hit the gym. Today was upper.. so chest, tris and shoulders I was in a hurry this morning because I planned on taking the kids swimming.. we left around 1030 but it took a while to get ready since we packed a picnic :) We swam for about 2 and half hours.. needless to say the kids will be sleeping great tonight.. :) I am a bit bumbed because cousin T is going out of town this weekend so I wont have her to go riding with.. so I guess I will get up early and just ride around my neck of the woods. :) I have been really missing my long saturday morning rides in the country :) all for now.. better go.. starting my free day this evening.. I am proud I stayed on track all week except for the coke I got after swimming this afternoon (4 sips ).. I am saving the rest until supper tonight :) hope you are all doing great..

todays cardio and some links

bike ride before breakfast this morning.. for some reason I am really tired today. I did about 45 mins of riding.. the last part with su along side. I did abs on the ball and will do more throughout the day. I have had low energy alll day today. Cat has a sore throat and has been tired the last two days so i wonder if I have caught something from her. .. hum. I am missing my blogging friends who are just traveling the globe .. why am I happy?

you ask why am I sooo happy? I can finally post that I once again have a clean.. sparkling clean garage! all the clutter that was taken from the inside of my house a few weeks ago and put in the garage is now gone! I was going to have a garage sale.. But Ladies.. I had a choice... Garage Sale or 20 mile bike ride Sat Morning.. i choose the bike ride :) So.. the surburban was loaded with TONS of stuff and DH hauled it to charity.. I am just hoping my clutter (toys) will put smiles on some kids faces :) so.. after I lifted I spent about 5 hours working in the garage.. in the attic and in the driveway.. it was in the hi 90s today.. so needless to say I was hot and stinky when it was all over with :) so what does this have to do with Body for Life? heres what.. i was lifting and carrying all kinds of things around the garage and up into the attic.. heavy heavy things.. things i use to have to wait until DH was here to help with.. I tell you what ladies.. I LOVE being able to lift a marble ...

Wednesday workout

fixed breakfast for the fam and got DH off to work then took the kids for a bike ride around campus. After that.. I lifted.. heres what I just finished: Plie squats 12.10.8.6 reg squats 24 lunges 2 sets of 12 leg exten 3 sets of 12 leg curl 3 sets of 15 stretch :) seated lat pull downs 12.10.8.6 bent over rows with knee on bench 24 on each side bi curls concentrating on very slow reps.. BERY slow :) 3 sets of 12 bi concentration curls vverry slow 24 on each arm stretch :) hot and sweaty and loving it. now I am off to clean out the garage.. all the decluttering of my house ended up with things all over the garage.. no I have to declutter the garage :) If I dont post later tonigh.. I have been eaten by the clutter monster! hows your day? OH.. i will post pics later tongiht.. it is photo wednesday :)

Legs? where did you go?

I got up by 7 this morning and hit the road ready to have a great bike ride... sad to say.. the wind didnt cooperate ... I did only 5 miles.. but with the wind blowing against me at about 30 miles an hour it was a HARD workout.. I could really tell that I havent been on the bike in almost a week.. those leg muscles of my were yelling at me like never before :) I came home and did abs on the ex. ball and stretched.. felt good. eats yesterday were great... a slight bobble but I recovered shake & hi fib toast salad with ham tea string cheese and a few sun chips (5) about 4 handfuls of sun chips and tea (i was cravng those things like crazy can tell p m and s are on the way :) taco stew 3 chips shake today so far so good.. shake and hi fib toast peanut bar and water salad with ham .. tea apple and peanut butter I was surfing the fitness web and found this.. its good.. about social obesity/fitness. http://skwigg.tripod.com/blog/index.blog/1729763/social-obesity-or-social-fitness/ all f...

I updated my weekly pictures ..click on "ch 5 weekly photos" on the side bar to see them and some pictures for fun.. and because I cant remember my password for my homeschool/family blog.. its been so long since I posted there.. I sure hope I can find where I wrote it down... but in the mean time.. heres some pictures below are pictures from this past weekend .. we went and saw DHs old homeplace.. this is where he grew up.... In the east tx woods :) below is my bed room before: below is a picture of the nighstands we got at a garage sale.. I painted them brown as well.. this is a picture of some of the stuff that came out of my bedroom (mostly under the bed) that is NOT going back there :) this is after :) see under the bed? no clutter :) .. and you can see the endtable too :) this is after the pic from today.. still clean and decluttered :) below is the boys room after I decluttered.. took out two desks, a fish tank, tv, shelf, keyboard, and lots and lots of other clutter :)...

Back Home (updated)

I am back home with dirty laundry and a long list of chores to do today :) But I did go grocery shopping yesterday so I have a menu and the food to go along with it :) Its nice to be back on program eats after my free day and then the drive back yesterday. I was so tired yesterday and i know it's 1. because my boys woke me up 4 times the night before and I ended up on the floor while my oldest son got in bed with daddy (I also had bad dreams..could it have been the amazing chinese food i had the night before?) AND 2. because two days straight of eating pretty well off the program left me with no energy and feeling like I use too ... I am also retaining water :) So I am glad to have my shopping done and one bfl normal meal in my system :) I will workout and then mow the lawn and should be feeling much better after both. One other thing I have noticed... I am soooooo sore! Guess its from not enough water and just sitting for 6 hours yesterday... but I am ready to get moving so i am ...

Is it just Habit?

I felt this way last night when I didnt workout until 9pm.. .. just a urge that I HAD to workout... just like I get the urge that I HAVE to brush my teeth before bed. The same thing happened this morning.. in the middle of he second Bourne movie i just had the urge to go run. ... so... I got dressed and went for a run in HUMID houston! I did about 1.5 miles but I ran HARD and pushed myself like I did when i was running sprints.. I was dripping sweat when i got home and I was home so quickly that everyone asked "whats wrong?".. OH.. your already back? .. (yep:) I did a few abs afterwards and stretched.... ...

I just couldnt miss...couldnt

well.. I almost waited until tomorrow morning to lift.. but I just couldnt do it... heres a rundown of the day: up early to go with angell to a docs appointment (checkup) 7-1030 picked up the kids at gymnastics (they were with the daddies 1115ish) home for lunch (1/2 a pb&j, chips and a coke) swimming with the kids (for 2 hours) cat and I run to the super walmart for groceries visited with angell prepared supper (speg and meatballs with amazing bread and salad and brownie/icecream for dessert----free day has begun so no guilt here .... guilt for the coke.. but not this meal :) decide to wait until tomorrow morning to lift.. think it over for about an hour and decide if I miss it will be my first miss since I started.. I JUST COULDNT MISS! dressed and went to As garage and did: lunges, squats, deadlifts, bent over rows, bent over flies, bi curls hammer and arnolds, reg curls with curl bar, and FROG jumps with catherine after I was finished with the weights. How does it feel? well.. ...

houston.. we have a problem

the problem was called El Burrito. ..Traffic and not having olives or peppers to go with that turkey I had at lunch today :) heres my eats for today: protein, toast, peanut bar turkey/plain no bread, 5 chips water 10 reeses peices and the top peanut part of 1/2 a snickers el burrito... (chips warm and wonderfully crunchy, hotsauce, bean burrito with cheese sauce, and tooooo many chips)..,, -I have fallen.. but I will get up!!! maybe a shake before bed.... OR I might just be toooooo full to have anything .... going to the grocery store tomorrow so i will have more options. I told Cat tonight I am sooo ready to get in one spot and be there for a while so i can get back on my eating schedule. This trips difference is that I am craving good things even when I dont have them as options.... and I cant wait to get back to eating right.... I just feel sooo much better when i do :) Traffice on I-10 was thhhick! .. A Thunderstorm we had to ride through wasnt too much fun either... we drove from ...

Swimming=out of shape

Nothing like swimming a few rounds in the pool to make you feel really out of shape. This morning we got up and took the kids to the community pool and we were the only ones there :) I swam lots of laps until I was just exhausted.. huffin and puffin.. but it was great fun:)... eats so far today peanut bar, protein, 1 peice of bread, water turkey lunch meat, 5 chips, water trying hard to stay on track... why is it so much harder when we travel? we head to Tarkington today to visit some of joels old friends then will stay in Houston tonight with Angell :) (yipee!!)... I am looking forward to getting to workout with Angell tomorrow and Saturday :) better go.. gotta get to packin up the car so we can get on the road so will will miss rush hour in houston :) happy cardio!

read below for my days update.. the next few pictures are from this evening.. I tell you what girls I am really making some progress when it comes to upper body! :) have fun laughing! got to sleep last night at around 1 am.. woke up many times for different reasons.. got out of bed at 830 this morning.. dressed and was determined not to miss my workout eventhough I was exhausted! the phone rang.. Angell :) .. she had just finished her workout and said "go get your workout done.. you will feel better!" .. and she was right! I DO! "mens" pushups 12.10.8.6. and 24 as burnouts (with about 30 seconds rest in between) triceps.. used a 10lbs sand ball they had... did over head extensions:) three sets of 15 and burnouts were 24 dips on weight bench with legs straight shoulders.. straight arm side raises while holding plate weights 12.10.8.6 and 24 seated extensions with plate weights. I then did abs cause I missed those yesterday... I did sets of 20 ... reg crunches, reve...
