workout DONE before 8am! woowho

ok.. our new schedule for the kids track started last friday.. so from now until next winter practice will be at 7am! .. my alarm didnt go off .. OR i slept through it so we were ten minutes late to practice.. I ran 2 laps, then stretched, then did HIITS on the middle of the field on the grass. I did 10 sprints and it just about killed me! I seriously felt like i was goin to throw up on 8. 9. and 10 but i didnt :) You know you have had a hard push yourself workout when you are exhausted before its over and feel like you will spew :) he after than i did one more lap cool down, stretched again and then did 10 situps folllowed by 3 sets of planks.. then track was over and we had to leave :) I plan on doing some burpees later today be sure and check out the challege below and join us (josha has already thrown her hat in.. and its a cute hat i mus say!)

Up for a Challenge????? 4 Weeks 2 Fit

"4 Weeks 2 to Fit" Challenge! Heres what you get to do.. you get to take two before photos. (front and back) and then you get to run jump lift swim ... whatever..you fitness plan requires.. for 4 weeks then you get to take after photos AT the end you will post both before and after photos and answer a short questionaire (that i will post for you to copy) and post it on your blog. at the end you will get a little jpg to post on your blog :) IF you complete the challenge. and we might just have a outside fitness person vote on the finishers in different catagories. :) here are the "rules" 1. your goal must be to workout 6 days a week. 2. You need to have specific goals in mind (ie.. running farther, fast or lifting more) be specific 3. You need to focus on possitive healthy nutrition during this time and pick ONE thing to go without this month (ie.. no cokes, or no cakes or no cookies) 4. 5 miles FINALLY

I cant believe i finally got 5 miles done! thought my foot was going to keep me from it I just took it easy alllll week... couldnt run saturday cause I was at the Texas State Homeschool Track Championships. coundnt run yesterday cause i had a track hangover :).. (got in at 130am sat night) and almost didnt go today cause i didnt sleep well at all last night but it was amazing outside today.. we had storms come through last night.. and this afternoon it turned just awesome out.. so .. 5 miles done. mile 1 wasnt much fun felt fat and heavy mile 2 was better mile 3 much better mile 4 .. i was bookin it baby! teach that college girl to blow by me like i was nothin and mile 5... sprint the first 1/4 of a mile.. cool down the last 3/4s i havent felt this great in ages! will i fall in love with running again? I think so.

the run that wasnt

i was going to run yesterday after coop but instead i helped my husband take up the flooring we just laid a few weeks ago in our kitchen came home from co-op to find water standing in our kitchen :( the fridge decided to spew water all over the floor instead of making ice. i walked about 2 miles this morning at 7 during track....my foot is still a bit tender so i decided to take it easy... will try and see what i can run on Sunday as far as a long run.. not looking at more than 3 miles............ we have a track meet tomorrow for the kids.. cant wait to see the kids run! esp the 4x400 relay! :) more sunday

Its a new day

ok.. here we go again.. turning frustration into progress over here! up and in the garage by 715am! .. did upper body chest, back, shoulders, bis and tris.. burnouts on all! NOW... why i DONT start my day like this everyday i dont know! It makes me a different person. seriously. stress relieved, refocused and ready for the day! watchout cause i am going to do this again! I WILL be a lean mean fit mom I WILL be able to run 5 miles before i feel like i am warmed up and look forward to the next 6 to go. I WILL be a size 4 again. strong fit and feeling good again. I WILL.

would like a do over please.

could i just have a do over? yeah.. a do over.. . lets rewind back to last Aug and let me just do it all over.. not get injured.. not wait $ on a race i couldnt run, not get the flu multiple times, not gain 15 or 20 lbs back.. NOT have to start over, and over, and over... yeah. just a do over. If i had a do over.. I wouldnt be feeling fat and heavy, my clothes would fit, i would have shorts to wear, i would have energy, i would feel strong, i wouldnt mind my belly pooch, If I had a do over I would have run a marathon by now.. I would be in training for another .. and feeling great. but.. Do overs are just dreams and a waist of brain energy.. I cant rewind.. I have to face the fact that I have 20lbs to loose and that my lack of energy just means i have to FORCE myself to get up out of bed, get the workouts done and not turn to bad foods to make me feel better. I have to face the fact that I feel (FEEL) like I just wasted the past 7 months... I have to face the reality of what not being...

green smoothies ROCK i cant believe how good it tastes seriously i am so thrilled! gona have one tomorrow tooo and the next day and the next day :) mine was spinach, half a banana, 4 strawberries, a bit of blueberries, ice water and a stevia pack awesome. now to get the Kale in there.. wow OH.. and my kids like it.. one even came back for 2nds!

no workout sunday... no meat either

well the foot is sore.. bruised feeling and a tad swollen but no blue or black.. so thats good i think :) i can walk on it and its sore but requires no limping... hoping a few days of rest will do the trick... will play it by ear tomorrow... if i cant run i will at least try and get some laps in the pool. it feels much better when i have my running shoes on instead of walking around barefooted. :) loving greensmoothiegirl stuff.. i still havent made a green smoothie yet but WILL tomorrow :) had a veggie meal at local mexican food restaurant today... the BEST quesadilla i have ever had.. SPINACH! and alllyummy ! and oh.. I can dream cant i? what a blender! wow $$ yikes! someday :)

very interesting

yesterday and today (Never a dull moment:UPDATE)

no real workout yesterday .. I did go to track with the kids and walked about a mile.. we walked to track and back home and i also walked 2 laps... so thats something.. I felt bad all day yesterday... but feel much better today :) I am looking forward to a nice 4 mile run with Su later this afternoon.. its a beautiful spring day! no wind! just perfect weather :) more later :) r STUPID CURB! yeah... was in the last 1/4 of a mile.. the home stretch and this stupid curb jumped out and made me twist my ankle! i was so mad i almost cursed. almost. so i walked home and iced it. will ice through the night.. but its more my foot than my ankle.. makes me mad.. I am like "what am i spose to learn from all this? injury after illness after injury... I just dont get it.. when will i figure this mess out." frustrating. so.. got the 4 miles in .. plus another 1/2 a mile getting up there and back.. feels good to have it done... just wish it would have ended differently.

I see it all as a process (why i stopped eating meat)

This fitness thing.. this becoming the person i think i am meant to be... to have energy to serve, to have energy to be a good mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, teacher, artist, .. the list goes on and on to do all of that felt i had to change. I first began over 2 years ago.. working out eating better.. I did the body for life eating .. it worked great.. with one exception.. my poor tummy. I would feel great during the week but on my free day my stomach was just a mess! It would take literally 3 days for my system to get back to "normal" ... What the program says to do is eat really well.. balance of carb and protien 5 to 6 meals a day during the week.. one free day a week.. and GIRLS.. what a free day i would have! cokes, ice cream, chips, that list goes on and on too :) so.. I began to realize that TRUE change for me had to be made by getting rid of bad habits for good. I started out first by getting rid of ice cream and candy bars. I use to eat ice cream most every...

great day but no workout

does painting count? how about laundry? or sitting and watching the kids swim while i worked on the computer? no? .. well.. shoot. today was filled with great memories! a good friend of mine got news today that the baby they are adopting was on its way! sweet baby girl 7lbs :) we had a great day with her two girls and some other friends :) we are all very excited to see our new sweet precious friend! they will return to town on thursday or friday :) so.. no workout. but its ok.. i will run tomorrow at track.. on the eats front.. Rest..Food....new things (UPDATE) :)

I wonder. how important is rest? Yesterday i did just that.. I rested. I have been feeling tired .. exhausted really for about 3 or 4 weeks.. always feeling like i need to sleep more in the mornings or take a nap in the afternoon.. neither of which i make time to do.. Yesterday, however.. I took a nap... 3 HOURS!.. I woke up feeling sooo much better! It made me realize that I need more rest... and I need to get on a schedule.. So i will be trying hard to get some extra shut eye this week.. even if i have to take it in nap form :) no workout yesterday cause it was a rest day :) On the nutrition side of things.. I am officially one week meat free :) .. I am feeling great! my tummy has been so very happy and i have not missed meat at all :) I can see now that doing this as a more permanent way of life is doable for me. I am not saying I will NEVER eat meat again.. but i can tell you that I dont really miss it :) My taste buds have changed already and i am finding things I use to conside...

yesterday's .....and today's :) (UPDATED)

no "official" weight lifting yesterday.....I did, however walk the track with friends at the kids practice yesterday and decided to bring along some 5 and 8lb weighs. I carried the 5lbers while walking....did about a mile or so while pumping those arms a bit :) other than that.. no official workout .. but i DID clean out our garage (yes again) and I flipped it so the workout equipment is on the opposite side it was on... all this to say.. I got quite a workout moving the smith machine, squat rack and all the weights. UPDATE ok.. it wasnt fast, it wasnt fun, it wasnt very much running, but... I did 3 miles. Walked most. It was on the treadmill since the winds blowing 90 to nothing here and there saying stormy weather. but its ok. someday 3 miles walking wont feel exhausting. just gotta keep going. I havent been feeling rested. I worked on the garage yesterday and today started painting in our Den.... I feel so out of shape.... but whats a girl to do... just gotta keep going. ...

Dust in the Wind!

I AM SSSSSOOOOOOO SORE!!!!! :) ahhhh progress :) This isnt from today but this is what the sky looked like alll day.. from about 930 am on. the wind blew up to 50mph.. definately not running weather! but.. despite the weather ..... I made myself run! 30 mins on the treadmill while i watched the biggest looser :) After I ran i ate supper.. that I had made for the family an hour earlier.. It was yummy! I have been meat free since Sunday :) and I am feeling great! I haven't decided yet if its just because I am eating no meat OR the fact that I am eating a LOT more veggies. :) This dish i made is brown rice with seasoning, onion and egg. The veggies are from a frozen pack and i added zucchini and yellow squash! ok.. all for now.. gotta go watch the latest episode of lost :) and see if i get lost (again).. that show is a bit confusing :)

Wednesday's Whopper of a Workout

These are my legs: These are my legs after Wednesday's Whopper of a Workout: 1300 meter run.. inter dispersed with lunges (12.10.8.6) bleacher runs and walks.. and one leg squats with opposite leg hanging off the bleacher. It was a 30 min workout.. I also did a few sit ups .. but.. tomorrow will prove to be a challenge to walk i think.. ahhhhhhhh PROGRESS FEELS GOOOOOOOOOOOD !!! REMEMBER TRINITY! :) CLICK HERE

its ok to be frustrated right? (UPDATE)

reminding myself its ok to be frustrated.. as long as i get my workouts in :) more later UPDATE: got dressed and went for a run. it wasnt fun it was hard. but i did it. I have been feeling slow and out of shape. I have been wishing I hadnt gained so much weight. I have been dreaming of feeling like i am making progress. I feel like I am starting completely over!!! but you know what? Its ok to start over. Its ok to be frustrated. Its ok to not like where i am. Its ok to have a very hard exhausting run. Its ok to dream of being able to run 8 miles again and not feel as tired as i did after my 2 mile run today. ITS OK> I am starting over. I will focus on what i need to do this week.. TODAY.. I will put the blinders on and not think its impossible. I will.. slowly, week by week, make the progress i dream of. I WILL. its just a matter of time. tonight: 30 min workout.. walking up to campus.. running 2 miles in 20:38 and walking home.. exhausted! now for abs and more stretching. I am des...

Please Pray

Please pray for Trinity.. Precious daughter of Sarah and Kevin.. Taken to the hospital yesterday unresponsive... she is in critical condition.. they dont know what caused it.. she had had a cold and went to sleep Sat night and they couldn't wake her Sunday... she IS showing signs of improvement.. Race Report :) (urgh.. update)

Urgh update well.. I THOUGHT the times were really fast for the pace i was running.. I THOUGHT I felt like it wasnt far enough... I THOUGHT i shouldnt have gone to pick up our t-shirts as everyone else was waiting for the announcement of winners... . but.. I didnt find out until this morning that one of the police officers that helped block off the roads and "lead the way" didnt have the correct street.. and that as a result.. we didnt run 3.1.. but more like 2.25 or 2.5.. who knows.. (WHY my daughter didnt think to mention it before this morning is funny too ) it was still fun it was still great memories but i was disappointed cause our time prob wasnt a pr.. oh well.. guess i needed to be reminded of "no need for speed" and running for the JOY of it huh :) Here's a shot from after the race. We had a great time.. Cat had some tummy trouble (again) at about mile 2. I know once she gets this digestive stuff figured out her times will even be better and the races ...

tired..

tired today from not enough sleep last night.. I really need to get into a better sleeping pattern! I walked about 2.5 miles at track this morning :) been painting most the rest of the day... wishing i had a maid and a cook :) .. hard to get house cleaning done when your never home :) tomorrow morning. 8 am start.. race with my DD... will be fun.. we are both looking forward to it! AND the t-shirt! more tomorrow after the fun run!

what was I to do today????

WOW.. what a busy busy day.. no workout will run 2 miles tomorrow then 5k on sat morning durn wind wont stop blowin.. crazy wind ... blowing things over kinda wind.. including (almost) . me! meat free still except for the chick fe la mess up :) hehe. .. I really havent missed it :)

update 928pm I just LOVE finishing the day off with a nice banana, strawberry and blueberry protien shake! with NO sugar added :) just yummmmmmmmmmmmmy and I am so very happy my hair is growing out so fast! :) i think the good nutrition is working! track was windy... I was to run 40 mins.. i did about 31.. the wind was blowing NON STOP.. like 30 mph.. at one point when i stopped to take my jacket off it literally almost blew me over! I ran a mile.. then i did sprints.. YIKES then my legs were really tired. i did a few bleachers.. and called it good enough. my legs are still tired from those sprints! I had a OH NO moment today! .. i was running late for a meeting.... we were meeting at chick fe la.. I asked my DD to order for me.. and only after my 3rd bite did i realize.. I was eating chicken! .. SHOOT.. i was 2 days meat free... and it totally didnt even register .. so funny. .. talk about habits ... THAT was a sure habit mode mistake LOL (OOPS) .. .. do you ever feel like life is ju...
