10 miles of Tummy Ache

Well. I was hoping for a fantastic run today in beautiful weather. the weather was GREAT my run. not so much. first two miles: really tight but finally loosened up miles 4-5: feeling a bit better BOOM at 4.5 miles my stomach started yelling at me (took a potty break for 10 mins but my stomach just hurt so i decided to run another lap and see how it went) mile 6-7 : tummy cramps throughout walked and jogged most (another potty stop.. after another 10 mins.. felt better) miles 8-9: My tummy felt better but i had NO energy... i walked 2 miles with Stacy (one of the awesome gals in our group) and then ran- walked the rest.. mile 10: ran walked it... had to stop and rest even cause I was so tired... lungs felt great but my body just felt awful. so... it was a lesson today ' how to run when you dont feel good' I know its mostly because my schedule and lack of sleep the past 2 weeks is effecting me a lot... so I am happy that I finished and am looking forward to brighter days with mo...

10 miler tomorrow!!!!

i am all "carb loaded" and gearing up for tomorrows 10 miler... gotta find that ipod and get it charged :) I cannot wait to run... Prob wont get out until close to noon but will post as soon as i am finished. I am going to try to run a fast second half and a slower first ... so i will run and take a few walking breaks on the first have and have set a goal to run the last 5 miles. I am also dreaming of owning these two shirts :) (click on the shirts for links :)

sick boy again

well.. now my other son is sick running fever, coughing .. going to the dr today was going to run my 10 miler today or tomorrow but now will put it off until Saturday or Sun and just skip the 8 miler planned for this weekend. very thankful we have insurance and medicines available for us. We are very blessed compared to the rest of the world. I will do push ups and lots of ab work tonight... more later!

Snow Day Run. (PUSH UPS UPDATE)

OH I was in need of a good run... but it has been cold and last night we had snow come to town :).. I am not too much of a fan of snow and those of you who know me know many many winters I have totally fallen of my fitness bandwagon because of the cold weather. I had Josha and others tell me that running in the winter was great .. just layer up and get going and its amazing! ... (I would think "yeah right").. but this winter.. I was determined not to gain my 15 or 20lbs back that I worked so hard to get rid of again.... so.. I began to learn to love running in the winter time.. yeah.. ME.. outside in the COLD... RUNNNNNNING ... (what?) ... crazy isnt it? Here I am before I left.... I have two layers on bottom (including two pairs of socks) and three on top.... I was dressed perfectly..... got a tad hot but then the wind kicked in an cooled me off :) when I left it was 34 degrees and snowing. Here I am after.... I did 3 miles... the trail around campus was pretty easy to run...

Tech, and ten miler plan

Here are a few photos from the Indoor track meet at Texas Tech our kids ran in this past Saturday. The team did GREAT and I had a GREAT time on top of all of it! Here coach and I are waiting for another heat to start :) Here is a shot of the "bubble" .... its the Indoor track and field complex.... pretty cool! Here is my DD (in lane 8) getting ready to start the 400 meter dash... she is in 7th grade..... running against highschool girls.... I am just a tad proud of her :) She was great! (if you look in the photo to the right you will see a girl running .... that is the race prior to my daughters finishing up) We had a 5th grade girl run in the mile ... she did GREAT! She beat 29 highschool girls! I am sure she would have done even better than that if the high schoolers werent so pushie shovie at the beginning :).... What a GREAT day ! cant wait to do it again! I have decided to wait prob until Thursday to do my 10 miles. I will run tomorrow on the treadmill (as it is to snow ...

10 miler postponed

too tired to do my ten miles today thankful my sweet boy is feeling better and I slept about 7 hours last night (with one coughing interruption at 3am) my run will be tomorrow or tuesday I am really looking forward to it and wishin i had the energy to go do it today I want to be well rested before running... today I will go and have fun at our 10miler half marathon groups meet up and get inspired to finish mine :) after that... its rest time the track meet was AMAZING yesterday.. the kids did fantastic! I will post some pictures from that tonight or tomorrow

I am on the SLEEP when you can RUN when you can Plan

Another long night last night... we both managed to sleep from 3am to 7am so that's a record.. I am hoping tonight is better but am prepared for it to be the same. So.. I am on the Sleep when you can Run when you can Plan :) here is how it works... 1. sleep when you can 2. run when you can 3. feel better after finishing both I got that 4 hours of sleep last night and then took a 3 hour "nap" this afternoon.... I say "nap" because it was filled with many interruptions.. coughing, dog barking, phone ringing, you know.. the usual. After supper I ran to the grocery store to get a few things for the trip-track meet tomorrow my DD and I will be making. Came home, changed and headed out to get a few miles in. I really wanted to see if I could manage a 4 miler... it was AMAZING out tonight! 60 degrees.. NO WIND... and no one out... well... only about 10 people ... (more on that later) I ran a mile and a half, stretched and at the 2 mile mark had to go potty... I serious...

bacon run

what a crazy last few days. I have been so tired. my youngest is still coughing but other than that is much better.... played a bit outside today and mean homeschooling mom I am .. he did math :) I took a 1.5 hour nap this afternoon and woke up better but still tired. I made breakfast for supper (bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy) which we havent had in a long while.... I ate a piece of bacon along with the other stuff... it was good... but as always when I eat a heavy meal I felt full and sluggish instead of energized. I headed out the door about 45 mins later... knowing a run is what I needed to make me feel better. It was dark but I felt good knowing I was really visible with my nightlife jacket :) the weather has been amazing today ... when I headed out the door it was 50 degrees and no wind ... woowhoo! I did 2.5 miles... average a 8 min mile! woowhoo..... when I was running I was actually going a bit faster as I walked a bit and also had to wait to cross the street :).... I am very v...

rough night

had a rough night last night..... might be another rest day for me. but plan to try and get atleast 2 runs in before I do what is spose to be a 10 miler this weekend. I might push it to Monday.. today i will focus on good eats, and rest.

60 min run ..will NOT be done

need to get a 60 min run in today... dont know when... gotta sick boy... going to the dr afterwhile... little sleep last night... the life of a fit mom isnt easy.. but better than the life of an unfit mom :) today i will choose fit i will run my 60 mins take a nap and keep going.. half marathons a few weeks away i wanna break 2 hours....that means i need to work at it every day until then... i will post as soon as I am finished. UPDATE well.. my boy has coup... dr said we would prob have another rough night tonight... still wanna get my run in.. we will see.. Praying no one else gets it... my daughter has sealed herself in her room ... she really wants to stay well so she can run at the track meet this weekend :) UpDATE you know when life gets in the way.. it makes you want to go back to your old ways. Lack of sleep always brings me back to wanting a coke first thing in the morning (which i wanted this morning but didnt do) and also has me thinking for a split second that some sugar in...

it ZIPPED UP! Wedding Dress Challenge Update

update: just finished my pushups.... I did 14, 14. 10, 10, and maxed out at 15... all with about a minute in between. When I first saw the plan for today i was like uhoh.. no way i can do that.. but to my surprise i felt strong up until the last 10 :) I can tell the program is working... feels great to be feeling stronger. I also took the test for the situp challenge... I did between 35 and 40 (i lost count).. shoot.... so i will retake the test tomorrow..... will let you know how it goes.... anyone want to join me????? ******************** OH MY GOODNESS.... six miles today with the ladies .... gotta get my weekly runs back this coming week... a sick boy and little sleep does put a damper on my running.. but i feel better this morning after we both slept most of the night! :) and Its official.. I am registered for the Dallas Rock and Roll Half... UPDATE: 6 miles done! I ran and then ran FAST and walked and ran and ran FAST and walked... I was pooped when i was done... but oh it felt GREAT! the weather?? snow yesterday today 65 degrees and sunny :) I LOVE me west texas weather! ok.. hot date with the hubby ... gotta go get myself spruced up :)

duck duck gooooose!

I decided to let track practice be my workout out today ran and did aerobics (lots of jumping) for an hour or so.. and finished up with a game of duck duck goose! I got picked 3 times ... and so got sprint work in...yikes!!!! duck duck goose isnt for kids anymore... its a great workout! did my 3 day of pushups......did 11, 15, 9, 9 and maxed out with 13... felt good :) thats all i have time for.. spose to snow here tomorrow.. might have ta go for a run out in it :) cya!

pushups and superbowl eats

had a great workout at track practice at noon this morning... a 20 min run and aerobics-stretching :) tonight we did our second day of pushups... I did 10, 12, 8, 8, and maxed out at 13 with 90 sec. rest in between... It felt good but I can tell i will be sore tomorrow :) Its sinking in that one day soon i WILL do 100 pushups. .... i just gotta keep up the workouts and know it will get me there :) I cannot even imagine really doing 100 in a row... so it will be fun to see if i will actually make it :) -- on the eats front.. I DID have some super bowl food yesterday... not a lot but enough to feel i had a free meal :)... I did make one rule... which was to drink only water ... i think that helped me a lot not to over do it and to make me feel better tummy wise :)... As far as sweets I had three oreos and a few peanut m&ms. Cool thing is.. I only ate 3 Os and the other cool thing is this morning i wasnt craving sugar. I havent craved sugar allll day. what a great feeling that is :)....

group 8 miler, saddle sore and smorgasbord (UPDATE)

Had our long run meet up today with the first time half marathoners group. the gals did GREAT! It was an 8 miler. Soooo happy they all finished so strong! :) While they walked or ran I rode my bike around from one gal to the next.... I would ride a long side and visit and see how they were doing and then go check on the next gal .... it was great fun and reminded me how much I like to ride :) I did about 5 miles on the bike... now i am saddle sore :) ha we didnt do our pushups last night... I was still sore from wednesday ... so we will do them tonight I am off to get ready for a Swedish Smorgasbord ... :)( pictures later) UPDATE.. smorgasbord was great. lots of food i couldnt eat :)... I did take a bite or two of some but just a taste.... but the people were great and lots of history there too :) there were S shaped cookies (for Switzerland I suppose).. YES.. I ate it.. it was yummy. not tooo sweet.. but buttery :) ... no pushups tonight.. will for sure tomorrow (maybe during the...

8 miler done ...

well I did it but it wasnt purty. I did 4 miles outside, came home got a bit of an orange and some water and got on the treadmill. I pushed myself reallllly hard when I was outside running the first 4 miles. I didnt know what my official pace was but it was a lot faster than i usually go.... when i got on the treadmill at home I was already tired but managed to average a good pace but had to take some walking breaks. I am sore from Wednesdays pushups.. but we will do our pushups tonight :) Glad 8 is done... :) now ... I MUST FIND FOOOOOOD> :)

"HEY! You know what?" "Sprints make you tired" I did my pushups from 100pushups place (with my hubby.. he did more) I did 20 mins of sprint work... 8 sprints all but one on max speed of 10. I did abdancing, inclined situps, hipups now.. I am tired. hungry and need to go just sit :) oh and I stink! dont you smell that stink in the air???? yeah.. ME :)

before i head out the clean the kitchen (again) I wanted to post and say a workout yesterday (i ran a for about 20 mins during track practice) no workout today tomorrow.. I will be busting a move... so dont worry.... will post after I am done :)
