Experimenting

Through out my journey here I have tried to be open, honest and straightforward. When I stumbled I always came back here and explained, shared what happened and decided to start over. This isn't about waking up one day and being a size 4. This journey isnt about running 13.1 or 26.2 and all the sudden you are healthy forever. This is a continuing journey that will NEVER END, I will be 90  years old and still trying to be healthy in a world that screams at you that it really doesn't matter what you eat.  Its like realizing once you have your first baby that you will NEVER go anywhere alone again. (well, unless you get a sitter). I remember strapping my now 14 year old in her carseat when she was 6 weeks old and relizing that my life would NEVER be the same. No matter what I wanted to do. ... the reality was that I had to sacrifice my time and energy to make sure she was taken care of. What I have realized is that if you have unhealthy habits, changing them to healthy ones ...

Celebrating 1500

Image
Wow, I missed the milestone I have been waiting for. THANKS Honey for always thinking I was beautiful no matter what size I was! My 1500th post! You've got to be kidding me. I did some figuring and if I spent an average of 15 mins writing these posts then it would be 375 hours of blogging! That's about 16 days of my life typing away. I think 16 days  spent blogging, reporting in, doing blog therapy, writing about my frustrations and victories, is worth it. 16 days over the past 4 years has been worth the time and energy. Blogging has kept me on track, gotten me back when I have fallen off and inspired me to keep going when I wanted to quit. This isn't just a place to write about myself... its where I get held accountable, inspired and refocused through the encouragement and dialog between me and you. To Celebrate.. Here's My first post from 06: ___________________ The act of making something different Modification: The act of making something different...

Mad Woman.

Yes, I turned into a mad woman. "MOM, (my daughter says).. YOUR vacuuming at 11pm!" ... (pause).. "ARE YOU OK?" Do you see my floors? spotless. Vacuumed and Mopped. Kitchen bleached and beautiful. Patio table cleaned and furniture rearranged. Dishes washed. Laundry going. Oh yeah, I hear the applause.. the woowhooos for a clean house.. But, dont you wonder what happened to me? Well. I WAS ON DRUGS! seriously Its a brown syrup called Dr Pepper. ..... You see.. I have been off caffeine for over a month and my sugar is so limited as well that WOWZER it took me for a ride. this is me without dr pepper. Image what I am like with it! I had been working (cleaning windows) at the rent house for about 4 hours. Hubby n I decided to order hamburgers and onion rings and the thought of that made me want a soda. So .. I thought.. I have been so "good" for so long... It won't hurt to have a little dr pepper. WRONG. You see... the thin...

OH MAN! my running is SOOOOO much related to the weather outside! how sad is that. Its been UHHHmazing this week and wow I LOVE IT! come on Spring! wowhoo! it was so hot I had armpit sweat! HA! I did 4 miler on Tuesday night after track practice and then again Thursday night.. tomorrow is spose to be 4 miler long run but I think I will bump it up to a 6 miler... then back down to 4 miler next weekend. The run on Tuesday night I ran the first mile in 7:30! .. then the last 3 backed down to about 10 min per mile... I felt so good I just wanted to run FAST! :) I have been so surprised how quickly I have gotten my endurance back.. and I believe it has a LOT to do with how well I have been eating. LOTS of fruit :) Leaving me more hydrated and ready to run! :) The really really cool thing is I havent been sore. I have been really pushing myself and usually I would be sore.. but not this time around. It MUST been cause of my nutrition! I have ordered this book from our lib...

Made a fast trip to Houston this past weekend.... Came home to beautiful weather! 77 degrees and a slight breeze...HELLLLOOOOO SPRING! LOVE it! My son and I couldn't get out of the car quick enough and headed up to run the trail. 4.25 miles.. with a 9 year old thats been in a car for 6 hours is an experience! ... He talked the whole time! It was GREAT!!!! we had so much fun! I have missed my smoothies like crazy the past 2 days. My plan was to go to the store and get some frozen fruit on the way but somehow it just didnt work out... and with how busy we were I dont know if I would have had time for the blender... so.... I made the weekend with canned fruit! .. Pineapple and peaches and night before bed and in the morning for breakfast. It wasnt enough calories and of course was hungry a hour and half later so I had bacon and eggs one morning  and ham and cheese this morning. It was a very nice surprise to realize how much I miss my fruit! wow. ME... Craving fruit!!...
