New year new job!

It's the new year and I have some new year resolutions just like everyone else. The ones I have this year are a lot different than ones I had in 2007 but the way to stay on track still applies.

How do we set goals and actually achieve them? How do we not let life get in the way of where we want to be in 6 months or a year? How to we stay positive and focused?

I have lots of tips and tricks for all those things, but reality is you and I could still fall off the resolution bandwagon. What if there is one big key that could guarantee you and I succeed? What if it really comes down to one simple yet complex idea. What if I told you we could take on a second part time job of only 12 hours a week and that this job would transform your life into the fit healthy person you dream of being?

Might I suggest changing your habits and become the person you dream of really comes down to taking on a second job.

I visit with quiet a few people about fitness and weightless and the response is the same wether we are talking healthy eating or working out "I can't.... I don't want to... I don't like.... Or it takes to much ...."

It's all about perspective really. But when you put fitness and weightless and health in a different box in life everything changes. So lets say that you want to become fit n healthy... Might I suggest you become your own boss? For a month look at your fitness and health as a job. When you do this it puts everything about your health and fitness plan in a different category. Here's what I mean:

You have this new job starting next week .......

1. Wardrobe ... You make sure you have the right clothing for the job ... And you don't have issue with spending money on that clothing ....

2.Playing hookie . . .... Reality is our jobs mean we have to go to work when we don't want to, there are only so many off days you are allowed without loosing your position.

3. Out of our comfort zones.... Many of us have experienced situations at work that get us out of our comfort zones ... Our jobs require many of us to learn new things and try different things in order to stay competitive in te market place... We might not like it but we adapt and change to keep our job.

4. We know it this new job isn't our dream job....we know going in that this new part time job will keep us from doing other things we wish w could do .....but we need the money, so we commit to 6 months so we can pay off those bills or save for that amazing vacation.

How many people do you know that are sacrificing their health for their jobs? They work so hard and waste away ... Then one day you hear that this person, who is amazing at their job has cancer, or heart disease or diabetes....... Or has to have knee surgery cause of the extra weight they carry... How could someone soooo successful in their work world let this aspect of their life go down the tubes? Allll they worked sooo hard for could be gone in an instant because they sacrificed their Heath for this job. It breaks my heart.

So my challenge for you is this...make yourself a priority when it comes to eating healthy and fitness.

Ask yourself this question: If you could take on a part time job that could pay you 1000s of dollars a year, (in medical bill savings)... Help you sleep better at night, make your current job easier and you're life less stressful but you got 0 money for it....... Would u take it?
If your answer is no .... What if this part time job paid you 50, 100, 500 thousand a year. Would you take it then?

What if it meant extending your quality of life? What if what you do now meant more years with your friends, husband, kids, or grand kids....... How appealing is this part time job now if it meant seeing your great grand kids get married or meant you were able to go on vacation to Alaska or cancun when you were 78 instead of sitting in a nursing home?

You are worth far for than any amount of money .... The rewards for taking care of the body mind and spirit God gave you has the potential to change not only your life but countless others you don't even know of. I challenge myself as well as you to be unconventional, be a rebel ....transform your life and become who you know your meant to be.

Romans 12
12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Place Your Life Before God

Romans 12 1-2
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
