Wishes

Wishes I was a more organized person
Wishes I didnt eat like crap the first 40 years of my life
Wishes happier (warmer) weather were here
Wishes I was still on the getting up at 5am without an alarm clock schedule
Wishes I could eat anything I wanted and be perfectly healthy
Wishes I had learned all I know today about 20 years ago
Wishes my kids were not growing up so fast
Wishes life wasn't so difficult for so many people
Wishes people would be more real
Wishes stuff and things didnt matter so much in this world
Wishes I would have started running in Jr High

Wishes........
wishes are just that.... wishes.

We can all wish things were different. We can all wish life was different. We can all agonize over the choices we have made in the past. We can wish our life away.

OR

We can CHOOSE to embrace who we are, where we are, what we are, and DREAM to be what we know we can become.

The reality is this new year holds uncertainty and doubt.

BUT
It also holds our dreams. Our desires are just out there for us to reach for and grasp. Reality is we cannot control the future... we cannot look through a crystal ball and know what is life is going to be like for us this year. We are not fortune tellers.

So, we are left with HOPE. Hope for the future, hope that sets us on fire to change. Hope to see ourselves as God meant for us to be. Hope to be more that we are today.

Wishes end up at the bottom of a well, dried and broken... but hope.. HOPE soars with the clouds!
It bends and curves with the winds never loosing its course, taking us over our mountains and lifting us from our valleys. Hope seeps into the cracks and crevices of our broken spirits and teaches us that for every heartbeat, ever breath, there is something more we can be. Its the glimmer at the end of a sad and dreadful day... telling us there is more to life than the ups and downs, the disappointments and self doubt. It tells us tomorrow can be different.

For this new year, I HOPE for you, no matter how doubtful you may be.... to look to the future and be confident that God will help you, comfort you and encourage you to be all you were meant to be.
